Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bahtiyar

Professor Bahtiyar was born in Kahramanmaraş, Turkey and graduated from Dicle University Faculty of Law in Turkey in 1986. He completed an LLM and a Ph.D. degree in Law and was awarded the Doctor of Law at İstanbul University in 1993.
He in an advent researcher, having completed intensive assignments in Turkey, France and Germany. He was an Assistant Professor at Kocaeli University and Dicle University and became an Associate Professor in 2000.
He was appointed Professor of Commercial Law in 2006 at the Faculty of Law in Kocaeli University and was appointed Professor of Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law of Yeditepe University in 2014.
He has many academic appointments in Commercial Law, including positions at Bahceşehir University and Kadir University.
He has been appointed as an expert Arbitrator, expert witness and legal consultant in many cases and has represented a cross-section of clients in Turkey and abroad. He authored 9 books on Trade Law, Banking Law, Commercial Debt Collection, Capital Markets, Consumer Protection and Corporate Law. He has authored over 60 articles published in many academic and media circles.
He speaks Turkish, German and some English and enjoys travelling and writing.
